Hands Studying body language in art this week reminds me of something a drawing teacher said, "When you can master drawing hands and feet you can draw anything." I have decided to let the hands I draw be what they want to be.
And I will be what I want to be as well.
Not lowering the bar or making excuses for wanting to do my best. This is a year to proceed.
"To proceed; to go forward after an interruption. Continue. Move on, in a orderly fashion".
I saw a exhibit recently of Enrique Chagoya's work and he uses a lot of hands. Micky Mouse hands, chopped off hands, sign language hands, menorah hands, the more fingers the more powerful for his 9 fingered hands.
And Jesus with holes in his hands.
And I will be what I want to be as well.

I am so inspired by your blog, and surprised, it was different today...
after the initial shock in my comfort zone...I realized you had done what I had been thinking... go forward without interuption, I've spent the last few days telling my daughter "be yourself." She rolled her eyes... I thought it was because that is what 20 yr olds do to there mothers...but a voice inside me whispered...she can't until you show her.
Proceed. WHat a terific word. I hadn't thought about it like that. ANd your journal pages are exquisite, I looked through your gallery right now and feel so inspired! :-)

I think hands in artwork, for some reason, captures a person's vulnerability. They offer a lot about someone's personality, based on the size, shape, texture, etc. Your piece captures what I'm talking about perfectly. I'm whole-heartedly diggin' it. :-)

i like all kinds of hands,whatever the occasion calls for. some hands have 5 fingers some need more or less, partials, or hands/arms even missing entirely. the work in progress guides me to that revelation. your posts inspire and energize sleepy places in me - i appreciate you and them.
