Take Your Face Off

I love this piece done by Henrik Drescher...just the fact that he took faces out of the piece can be interpreted on so many different levels. The small black and white faces also make me think of the International Photobooth Convention coming up this week-end in Chicago. For those of you not going to Artfest this could be the next best thing. Contact me and we can share a hotel. Check out their site for fun photobooth facts (say that 3 times fast) and the current discussion of movies that have had photobooths in them. Can you think of any? This particular face piece would be very cool to write about, interpret, or a starting off point for your own art. If you do any type of art inspired by our dear Henrik send it my way and I will post your work for everyone to see. Lovin these colors...

The colors are great and the faces give me comfort that what I draw is ok. I get so caught up in things needing be "just so" and well, we all know where that leads.

Those faces, oh those faces that have been cut out bring up so much, the need to be included, being excluded, feeling invisible in a crowd......and more I'm sure....

Last week I was home on the sofa with a nasty cold. It became an X Files marathon and one of the episodes had Fox getting photos from a photo booth in an old drug store.....it was creepy. But then, that is X Files for you.

I'm loving this. Definitely pushing me outside my creative box. The perfect dose of information for playing with my strips from the convention! Can't wait to play!

Hi Randi - I just discovered your blog. I love it - too bad that you have been away for some time! Do you plan on being back soon?
