Although most of you thought Mary Ann just cut her own stencils for Visual Journaling and taught great stenciling classes.... you may not have known she models part time as well. Here is a photo of her from Modern Mechanix Magazine September 1929 under a assumed name.
Hmmmm.... just an observation: If one sat out in the sun with a cardboard stencil of one's name taped to his or her leg, wouldn't you also end up with tan-lines of the stencil and tape as well??? Not entirely sure Modern Mechanix Mag (or Mary Ann for that matter) thought this one all the way through!!! :)

Dang, the instant I saw that image I thought it might be her!!!!
I'd have to spend a LOT of time in the sun to get that stencil to show....
How goes it in IA? I was all jazzed up about MA's class and had my outdoor stencil station all planned out and it RAINED !!!
Now I really have to hit the paypal button :)
Randi, I'm so glad you joined Mary Ann's stencilry class and look forward to see what you create. Who knew that MA used to work as a model.
too funny...could you imagine the graffiti that could be done on the human body?!
Brings back memories of my youth.....
Mary Ann's class was the BEST! Are you doing part 2?
